Helping to run a crew of up to 30 trades. Working on underground and surface mining machinery. Plant maintenance and rebuilds. 5:2 roster. Days only.

The role

As the workshop leading hand, you'll be reporting directly to the supervisor on site. Heading up a crew of roughly 30 trades throughout a variety of divisions. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll be responsible for:

• Mechanical maintenance on a variety of underground and surface mining machinery.
• Leading by example both on and off the tools, encouraging team work, collaboration, and crew culture whilst providing effective supervision and leadership.
• Supporting with shutdown projects across NSW underground mine sites.

Your skills & experience

You will come from a background working on mobile plant maintenance and rebuilds and be confident working on underground mining machinery. This position is very hands on, and you'll still be required to work on the tools for a majority of your role.

• Cert III Mobile Plant (desirable)
• Heavy diesel trade qualification (essential)
• Experience working on underground hardrock mining machinery. (maintenance and rebuilds)
• Effective communication with the team and clients on job progression
