As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be a part of the project team producing tenders for diverse clients across Australia and New Zealand.

You will:

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager and work as part of our dynamic team.
  • Responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for electrical projects.
  • Work closely with our team of Electrical Engineers, Electrical Estimators and Project Managers and administrators.
  • Provide practical and comprehensive solutions to ensure you are meeting our client's financial requirements while ensuring high-quality workmanship and service.
  • You will analyse project specifications, conduct takeoffs, and develop comprehensive cost estimates.

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will be an integral part of the project team producing tenders for diverse clients across Australia and New Zealand. Working in tandem with Senior Management, Electrical Engineers, and Junior Estimators, this role provides a supportive network for your career growth. The ideal candidate is expected to advance to the position of Lead Project Manager within 6-12 months, leading the entire project team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Review and analyse drawings, specifications, tender documentation, and proposals to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and develop material, labour, and equipment cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in bids and provide recommendations to the management team.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed tender packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and other supporting documentation.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and labour rates to maintain accurate estimating data.
  • Provide variations for existing projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance factors including standards and regulations.
  • Build/develop lasting relationships with all internal and external parties.
  • Utilise your expertise to support the growth and success of the project team.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to management.



The Position Requirements:

  • You will have 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools. Knowledge of SimPRO and GroundPlan is a bonus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse project specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A team-player mind-set with an understanding that together we achieve more.
