Growland developer has announced plans to build 430 affordable new houses and land lots on a 26.18ha site in new suburb Fraser Rise.

The estimated $258 million end value project is due to launch first half of this year, with construction commencing in 2019.

Aimed at second or third-home buyers, Growland Founder Bruce Chan mentioned that the development would have homes that are affordable and occupy larger blocks.

Fraser Rise was one of 11 new suburbs approved by the State Government in February 2017. The area formerly known as part of Plumpton, was approved for the “growth corridor” between Caroline Springs and Melton.

The other 10 new suburbs include Aintree, Bonnie Brook, Cobblebank, Deanside, Fieldstone, Grangefields, Harkness, Strathtulloh, Thornhill Park and Weir Views. The suburbs were created in areas Plumpton, Rockbank and Truganina to accommodate significant population growth in the region. More than 5000 established homes and businesses in the area required address changes.

Melton Council’s “Plumpton Precinct Structure Plan” will include the Fraser Rise development, which once completed will project to support 29,900 residents across 10,680 homes and provide 12,000 jobs.

Growland has also planned development nearby in Tarneit for a 900-lot community targeted at first-home buyers which is launching this year.
