Premier Daniel Andrews announced today the state budget for Victoria, with more than $170 million going towards free TAFE courses for next year.

The offer of free TAFE courses will help the increase of demand for workers in the infrastructure-building sector, with $40 billion being spent on rail, roads, schools and hospitals. Victoria is in the midst of a construction boom, where qualified workers are needed now more than ever.

Daniel Andrews announced on Social Media:

“From next year, all these major TAFE qualifications and apprenticeship pathways will cost you nothing to complete in Victoria. That’s right. No course fees. Nothing. Free. #VicBudget”

Engineering Pathways and Building & Construction are among the 30 priority TAFE courses that will be free as of next year, which also include nursing, accounting, agriculture, age care support, disability care and support, automotive, hairdressing, signage and graphics, food services.
